We all know Colm McLoughlin, an Irish businessman, and the executive vice chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free, an airport retailer with a turnover of US$2.029 billion. It was wonderful to meet the man himself who, behind the big title is a bigger gentleman.

🐢 As I walked the corridors of the Dubai Duty Free (DDF), I stopped to see the historical photographic story of DDF and Colm. If DDF was a tree, then Colm is its deep roots.

🐢 Each photograph and award told a story that has made the DDF the giant it is today. I am sure the journey has had its challenges but what stood out for me, was no matter how hard the journey had been, it was walked with a warm smile and a strong handshake!

🐢 As I sat outside his office, I looked excitedly inside my bag which had the book ‘Tach plays in Croke Park’ and a Tach Hurley stick with a sliotar. Being the classic Irish gentleman he is, he came out to walk me into his office.

🐢The office was lit up with sunlight streaming through wall to wall windows and a cup of tea already on the table, the perfect Irish welcome! When the Hurley stick was presented to him, his face lit up like a kid and I had to capture it on camera. It is such a delight to share the moment with you all.

Here is to everyone who loves Hurling and to those who want to discover it.

🐢 All Tach merchandise including Tach books and Hurley sticks are available at Irish Village Garhoud and The Wadi Tribe website.
